Ermelo businesses invited to join Ligbron’s 10 Days of Kindness initiative

Local businesses and residents are encouraged to unite through simple daily acts that strengthen relationships and create lasting community impact.

ERMELO – Ligbron Academy of Technology is inviting businesses and community members to take part in its 10 Days of Kindness initiative this August, encouraging simple acts of kindness that can make a difference in the community.

The campaign encourages participants to intentionally spend 10 days building a stronger, kinder town through everyday acts of kindness.

Businesses have been invited to become actively involved on four dedicated campaign days, namely 12, 13, 18 and 19 August.

Saretha Ferns, organiser of the initiative, said participation can be as simple or as creative as businesses choose, with every act of kindness having the potential to leave a lasting impact.

A dedicated WhatsApp group will be created for participating businesses to share photographs, videos and stories of their kindness initiatives.

According to Ferns, the group aims to inspire others while celebrating the difference being made throughout the campaign.

The campaign encourages participants to spend 10 days intentionally building the town together, one act of kindness at a time.

Ligbron has invited businesses to join the initiative in demonstrating that “kindness has the power to transform lives and strengthen our community”.

The 10-day campaign encourages participants to complete a different act of kindness each day:

  • 11 August – Speak life: Give three genuine compliments to people around you.
  • 12 August – Pay it forward: Perform an unexpected act of kindness, such as buying someone a coffee or leaving a small treat.
  • 13 August – Say thank you: Thank someone whose efforts often go unnoticed, such as a teacher, cleaner, security guard or cashier.
  • 14 August – Include someone: Reach out to someone who may feel left out by inviting them to join you or simply starting a conversation.
  • 15 August – Choose positive: Replace complaints with positive words and encourage someone who may be having a difficult day.
  • 16 August – Lend a hand: Help someone without being asked, whether at home, school or in the community.
  • 17 August – Check in: Contact someone and ask how they are really doing.
  • 18 August – Give generously: Share something you have, such as food, clothing or stationery, with someone in need.
  • 19 August – Love your community: Do an act of kindness for the community, such as picking up litter or supporting a local charity.
  • 20 August – Make someone’s day: Go above and beyond to brighten someone’s day without expecting anything in return.
