Development soccer in Msukaligwa received a much needed boost after Sibusiso Sobuhle Trading Enterprises and Dros Ermelo came on board to sponsor a soccer tournament set to take place on 24 September at the Mpumalanga Stadium to celebrate Heritage Day.
The company donated 13 soccer kits to the 13 U/13 teams that will take part in the tournament.
The company also handed over four referee kits to the officials who will be officiating on the day.
The winners of the tournament will receive cash prizes and trophies from the company, with the overall winner to get R5 000.
Runners-up will receive R2 000, while the third place holders will walk away with a thousand rand.
Individual prizes will also be on offer as the man of the matches will get R500, Dros vouchers and trophies.
“We see the children play with soccer kits that do not fit them and decided as a company, which includes myself, Mr Ndumiso Vilakazi (managing director) and Mr Lucky Mathebula (chief executive officer), to motivate them to be active in sport and not to do crime and drugs,” said Mr Lizwe Nkambule, managing director of Sibusiso Sobuhle Trading Enterprises.
Mr Nkambule further added that the donation was just the beginning of great things to come and the company will continue to plough back into community development.
“We are thankful for such a grand gesture by Sibusiso Sobuhle Trading Enterprises as it will give the young soccer players the incentive to pursue soccer as an extracurricular activity and we encourage other business owners to replicate what this company has done for the betterment of development soccer,” said Mr Honey Maseko, Safa Msukaligwa’s chairman.
