Father and son finish within a second of each other at Kralinbergh parkrun

Tommie is a parkrun regular and has competed in 58 events. His personal best is 23:00.

During the Kralinbergh parkrun over the weekend, Tommie Jacobs and his son Edward, were separated by a mere second, with Tommie coming out on top.

Their times were 25:48 and 25:49 respectively.

He frequently competes alongside his younger son Stephan, who won the parkrun last weekend in a time of 25:07.

In third place was another regular, Johan Victor, who finished in 28:55.

Gosia Snyman took the honours in the women’s division, and crossed the finish line in 35:33. She was followed by Brenda Steyn and Yolandie Dixon with times of 35:25 and 37:36.

Dixon had previously participated in other parkruns, but this was her first time at Kralinberg.

It was a hot summer’s day that saw a total of 51 participants.

Three people improved their personal bests and eight runners competed here for the first time.
