Ermelo Athletic Club runners compete in Volksrust 3-in-1 Marathon

Koekemoer appealed to the public to participate in the Safire Street Mile on February 25.

Members of the Ermelo Athletic Club participated in the Volksrust 3-in-1 Marathon on January 21.

The following athletes participated:

  • Anneline Weweje (10km) – no time taken
  • Lionel Putter (10km) – no time taken
  • Nico Weweje (32km) – completed in 3:43:50
  • Herman Mulder (42.2km) – completed in 4:38:49 and also qualified for the Comrades Marathon
  • Elize Botha (21.1km) – finished in 2:22
  • Anel Schoeman (21.1km) – finished fourth in a time of 1:58:05.

Andries Koekemoer, chairman of the club, congratulated all the athletes.

Koekemoer and Nico Weweje also took part in the Middelburg 5-in-1 Marathon on January 28.

Weweje completed the 32km race in 3:22 and Koekemoer in 3:18.
