Women of Shalom Marathon Club take on Drakensberg Ultra-Trail

The event is entirely on mountain trails and provides the runners with a uniquely pure trail running experience.

Two members of Shalom Marathon Club recently competed in the 2023 Drakensberg Ultra-Trail.

Nosipho Mjelo ran the Giant’s Cup Uncut (GCU62) of 62.09km.

The GCU62 is a non-stop traverse of the entire Giant’s Cup Hiking Trail, which is certified as a five-day hike.

The event is entirely on mountain trails and provides the runners with a uniquely pure trail running experience.

She completed the 62.09km trail in a time of 14:37:51.

Dawn Madondo ran the Drakensberg Rockjumper Run (DRJ21). The run is 21km in length with 990m of vertical climb. Madondo posted a time of 04:56:47.

The race was circular and started and finished at the Premier Resort Sani Pass.
