Hundreds brave Ermelo cold for GSDM 3-in-1 Marathon

The ninth GSDM 3-in-1 Marathon delivered strong participation, prize money and energetic competition despite cold morning conditions.

Hundreds of runners gathered in Ermelo on Saturday, for the ninth GSDM 3-in-1 Marathon despite cold and misty weather conditions.

The event attracted elite athletes and social runners from across South Africa, as well as participants from Kenya and the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The marathon recorded increased participation compared to last year’s event.

Winners included Ziphindile Dlamini and Simon Sibeko in the 42.2km category, Salome Cooper and Samkelo Ngobese in the 21.1km race, and Sibongiseni Maseko and Reitumetse Likosane in the 10km event.

A total of R88 500 in prize money was awarded across multiple categories, while every finisher received a medal.
