Are you on the verge of winning?

Do you have a well maintained verge?

DO you have a well maintained verge or know of a neighbour who has one? Do you feel that it is worth showcasing? If so, the municipality welcomes you to enter it into the Municipal Verge Competition 2013.

The competition is aimed at acknowledging residents for their efforts in maintaining and improving the visual look of their verges, streetscapes and suburbs. This also contributes to greening the city so that eThekwini is recognised as a “Clean and Green” city in South Africa.

To participate in the competition, you have to submit a recent photograph accompanied by a short motivation why this verge has improved the street.

You also have to submit a digital photograph and motivation of a few words via e-mail to Charles.Ambrose@durban.gov.za or alternatively hand deliver it to Parks, Leisure and Cemeteries Department office at 70 St Thomas Road, Durban. (Botanic Gardens) or send an MMS to 083 288 8790. Include the address of the proposed verge, if possible the name and contact details of the resident and indicate the category – residential house, town house, complex or industrial area.

Closing date for submission of entries is Friday 27 September and the awardees will be announced on Tuesday 22 October.
