WBHS’s waterpolo team make a splash at pre-season festival
The U14 A team success at the pre-season festival was an inspiration for their next competition at the Rondebosch Waterpolo Festival.
WESTVILLE Boys’ High School U14A waterpolo had a great pre-season festival at the school recently, which bodes well for the side’s tour to the Rondebosch Waterpolo Festival from the 12 to 15 September.
The youngsters played against Glenwood, Clifton, Maritzburg College and Northwood and featured strongly in all the games.
Against Northwood, the team won 3-1 before racking up a score of 12-0 beating Maritzburg College convincingly.
In their third game against Glenwood, Westville put four points on the board, at the same time preventing Glenwood from scoring at all.
Their last and toughest fixture was the true test as the U14 side had gone down 1-8 to Clifton College in the first school term. But it was a well-matched encounter and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
WBHS’ U14A team includes Reuben Abbot, Dylan Coombe, Travis Gallias, Daniel Lagesse, Gareth Lillywhite, Brandon Mostert, Keegan Mills, Aden Parker, Jonathan Ray and Jordan Schwartz.
