Find the purr-fect companion

Various cats and kittens are available for adoption at the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

TINY claws and soft mews were abundant during a recent visit to the cattery at the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

Barbara Laubscher, the fundraising manager at the Kloof and Highway SPCA, has invited residents to adopt a furry companion from among the many stray animals that are available for adoption.

There are several adult cats and dozens of kittens which are hoping to find a loving home.

Adoptions are subject to an adoption fee, of R700 per kitten and R300 per cat, which includes sterilisation, micro-chipping, de-worming, vaccination and a pre-home inspection.

Residents adopting a kitten will be refunded R200 when the kitten is brought in to the SPCA for sterilisation.

“If residents are unable to adopt we encourage them to consider donating a “Christmas gift” to the animals who are in the care of the SPCA. We are in desperate need of cat and kitten toys as well as blankets,” said Laubscher.

Adoption hours are from 8am to 3pm on weekdays and from 8am to 12pm on Saturdays.
