KEARSNEY College is keeping it in the family. Stephen Tedder is the 2014 head prefect and his cousin, Tristan Tedder, is the deputy head prefect.
They are the fourth generation of Tedders with a Kearsney connection. Their great-grandfather, Lawrence Tedder taught at the school from 1946 to 1963 while grandfather, Robin Tedder matriculated at the school in 1956. Robin had four sons – the late Stephen Tedder who matriculated in 1981; former head boy, Clive Tedder (1985) who has a son James in Grade 11 this year; Roger Tedder (1987) whose son Stephen is head prefect; and Bruce Tedder (1992) whose son Tristan is deputy head prefect and whose younger son Torin is in Grade 9.
Head prefect, Stephen said, ” It’s a privilege to be part of the Tedder legacy and I’m incredibly proud of the family’s long association with such a magnificent institution. It’s now my responsibility to maintain and enhance the school’s reputation in all areas. I hope to make the family proud of my contribution to this legacy.”
