Moms cook up a storm at Hirsch’s competition
Pinetown resident Ann Bell walked away with a Rest Assured Bed in the Hirsch’s Hillcrest breakfast competition.

THREE lucky moms cooked up a storm this past Saturday morning at Hirsch’s Hillcrest to see who could out do their fellow contestants to win a Rest Assured Bed or Russell Hobbs appliances in Hirsch’s Breakfast in Bed competition.
First up was Ann Bell, who cooked a delicious omelette with peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese. She served this with a fresh fruit salad, apple and cinnamon oats plus fresh muesli and yoghurt. On the side she added crumpets with yoghurt and strawberries.
Second to try and beat the rest was Keri Strachan. Keri cooked a healthy tasty oat bran, yoghurt and berry muesli. She spoke about all the nutrients inside her dish and how it provides energy for the morning for all the “on the go” moms.
Nosipho Shange closed the cook off with a lovely breakfast of pork sausages, butternut, butter beans, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese and avocado cubes. It was dressed with balsamic vinegar and topped with chilli flakes and basil leaves.
Megan Lichter, Hirsch’s Hillcrest public relations manager said, “After a food filled morning the views of the judges were unanimous in that Ann Bell should take first place as well as her choice of a Rest Assured Bed or Russel Hobbs appliances.
“Runner up Keri Strachan won the Russell Hobbs stick blender while Nosipho Shange, who came in third place took home a lovely Hirsch cook book,” said Lichter.
