Skinny mare identified
The identity of the ex - race horse is now known.
The emaciated pregnant throughbred mare that was signed over to the Coastal Horse Care Unit as been identified as Frozen Delicious.
On arrival at the Unit, she was scanned for a microchip and her racing name identified. She was born in 2004 and is by Winter Romance out of Music of Life.
” It is truly sad that these thoroughbreds end up in these areas as the terrain and conditions in the rural areas is totally unsuitable for thoroughbreds,” said Laura Smith, Rural Outreach and Training Centre Co-Ordinator.
