Dozens of commuters from the Durban CBD to Pinetown, Westville and other areas on the highway have been left stranded at a Durban taxi rank due to a strike by taxi operators this morning.
It’s not clear why the taxis are on strike as the taxi association concerned is yet to give a reason for the strike action.
Another strike by taxi operators in Pinetown earlier this month was eventually resolved with the intervention of the mayor, after taxi drivers faced off with metro police.
