Communities say no to crime
About 100 people took to the streets last week to show their support for a crime awareness motorcade.
THE message was clear, no more crime.
Hordes of people from the community, SAPS, community policing forums and rural people took to the streets on Friday, 10 October in a motorcade to raise awareness about crime.
The event, hosted by Inchanga and Hillcrest SAPS, saw supporters travel from Inchanga to Hillcrest, where they visited various informal settlements and public areas and distributed pamphlets.
The motorcade was initiated by Inchanga SAPS following a surge in murders and theft of livestock.
“The community is living in fear as many criminals are still at large,” Lt Col Greg Joseph said at the press conference on Wednesday leading up to the event.
bout 100 people participated in the event and spread the message of no more crime through the streets.
