Taxi driver killed in Hillcrest collision
Two others were injured when a bakkie and a taxi collided yesterday afternoon.

A TAXI driver was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a taxi and bakkie in Hillcrest on Tuesday.
When ER24 paramedics arrived they saw the two vehicles had stopped in the slow lane of the road and found that the driver of the taxi was fatally injured and his body was still trapped in the vehicle.
Provincial services used the Jaws-of-Life to free his body. “The two occupants of the bakkie both had moderate injuries. They were treated for their injuries and transported to a nearby hospital,” said Russel Meiring, media spokesman for ER24.
The cause of the accident is not yet know but the local SAPS were at the scene and will be investigating.
