Six injured in N3 truck collision
Paramedics and other emergency personnel worked tirelessly to clear a chaotic accident scene this afternoon.
A TRUCK and eight cars were involved in a collision along the N3 Durban bound near the Pavilion Shopping Centre just after 12pm today (10 November).
“Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find total chaos as cars were spread across the busy highway over a distance of about 200 metres. Paramedics immediately called for more resources to assist including Search and Rescue as well as the Durban Fire Department,” said Garrith Jamieson, media spokesman for Rescue Care.
Once the scene had been assessed, six people were found to be injured and they were treated and stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals. Traffic was severely affected on the Durban bound freeway as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision, however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
