Murder suspect arrested in Pinetown

A 30-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by Pinetown police for a murder he allegedly committed in the Pinetown CBD in November last year. According to a report issued by Major Thulani Zwane, the suspect allegedly had an argument with Mthokozisi Ngidi, 24, who was purchasing goods from a street vendor along Anderson Road in Pinetown. “The suspect allegedly stabbed Ngidi in the chest and fled. An intensive investigation by Pinetown detectives led to arrest of the murder suspect,” said Zwane.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, applauded the police for the arrest. “We will make sure that we present well prepared dockets to the court so that the suspect will face the full might of law for taking another person’s life,” she said.

He is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
