Golden Paw Society tackles animal cruelty

Animal welfare will be discussed at the upcoming Golden Paw Society meeting.

THE KLOOF and Highway SPCA will be hosting their next Golden Paw Society meeting on 26 February from 9.30am to 11.30am at Marilyn’s Tea House (tea garden).

Animal welfare will be discussed at this meeting and Sue Noakes from the SPCA’s inspectorate department will be speaking about what their inspectors face on a daily basis. Lisa Gadd, PR and outreach officer at the Kloof and Highway SPCA, said, “There is such a wide spectrum of duties that the inspectorate performs that most are unaware of. It is important that the community knows and understands what the SPCA inspectorate functions are as well as the role the community plays in preventing animal cruelty.”

On a sweeter note, Charmaine Saunders will be the guest speaker at the meeting. She will tempt guests with delicious ideas on how to make the best cupcakes.

Entrance is free but donations are welcome. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided. If you are interested in attending the meeting contact the marketing and fundraising department on 031 764 1212/3 or fundraising@kloofspca.co.za to RSVP.
