Explosive find in Malvern

Malvern Police Station officers discovered explosives on a property in Malvern.

MALVERN SAPS members were called to a home in Malvern where nine canisters filled with disc-shaped explosives were discovered.

W/O Radhika Marimuthu, corporate communication officer for the station, said on Monday, 30 March at 8.30am, Malvern Police Station officers responded to a call of abandoned explosives.

“The crime prevention unit members were dispatched to the area, where they found nine canisters filled with disc-shaped explosives. The explosive were then carefully collected and taken to the station,” Marimuthu said.

The explosives were handed over to the SAPS Explosive Unit.

W/O Marimuthu said the police are investigating the find and will supply updates once more information has been gathered.
