Getting the homemade biscuits ready for the Gartenfest are Senta Cope, Gerda Volker, Sylvia Hartmann and Adele Dennison.

Enjoy some good, old-fashioned German folk songs and cuisine, not to mention beer, at the ever-popular Gartenfest on Saturday, 30 May at the Lutheran Church/Church of the Redeemer, 1 Church Road, Assagay from 10am to 4pm.

There will be plenty of delicious food on sale, including meat on the spit, Eisbein, German meats, rollmops, a fantastic variety of salads, potato fritters, homemade cakes and biscuits.

Children’s entertainment includes a jumping castle, games and tombola and there will a new plant/garden stall.
