Cato Ridge collision leaves one critically injured

The cause of a collision that left nine people injured is being investigated.

NINE people were injured this morning when the vehicles they were travelling in collided on Old Georgedale Road, Cato Ridge. The collision involved three bakkies and a car. According to ER24 spokesman, Pieter Rossouw, paramedics arrived on scene and found that one person had sustained critical injuries. The other eight people were treated for injuries ranging from minor to serious.

“The critical patient was transported to Edendale Hospital, while the other five patients were transported to Northdale Hospital and MediClinic Pietermaritzburg by ER24. The remaining three patients were transported by other medical services,” said Rossouw.

The cause of the collision will be investigated.
