Improve your presentation skills with toastmasters
A two-day public Speech Craft course will be held this weekend.
A GROUP of highly qualified toastmasters and trainers will be hosting a two-day public Speech Craft course on 30 and 31 May at the IMM offices, 245 North Ridge (Peter Mokaba) Road at the corner of Valley View Road, Morningside.
This course was originally advertised earlier in May, but the weekend fell on Mother’s Day and due to popular demand the date has been moved to this weekend.
“More and more people are expected to do presentations at work, yet it is the one thing that people most fear,” said Jason Sanders, Speech Craft chairman.
The course is designed to improve speaking skills. It will cover how to prepare and present a speech as well as deal with impromptu speeches and how to recognise the elements of a good speech or presentation.
“It will also include a section on preparing and presenting talks with visual aids and how to deal with difficult questions from the audience. The cost of the course is R1 880 per person. In addition, this charge includes the cost of a joining fee and six months’ free membership to a toastmasters club of the delegates’ choice.
“Places are limited as we are only taking on 30 delegates to ensure that they have as much individual attention as possible. We urge those interested to contact us, as places for the course will be on a first come, first served basis,” added Sanders.
