Children in Malvern showered with gifts

Food for Life team pays special visit to Malvern Children's Homes.

THE Food for Life Children’s Projects team are frequent visitors to the Malvern Children’s Homes.

They provide the children with fun food and party packs as well as sponsored educational gifts and conduct various learning activities based on those educational products. The project team also visits various schools in the Malvern area, including communities where there are children. Manager of the project, Divesh Maharaj, said the Food for Life Children’s Project is an initiative that aims to support the holistic development of disadvantaged children.

“We see nutrition as being an important component of this development and we combine this with various educational development activities. These learning activities are based mainly around environmental education as well as various life orientation skills, such as peace education.

“Many of our volunteers are young university graduates, so there is a component of the project that promotes various disciplines of engineering and science, particularly to young women,” he added.
