A 34-YEAR-old Zimbabwean man is expected to appear in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court on Monday for double murder and rape.
According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, a naked body of a woman was found on Monday, 15 June along Medway Road in the Drummond area, and a second body was found the following day along the same road.
Manqele said both women had been strangled and raped.
“Two cases of murder and rape were opened at Inchanga police station for further investigation.
“On Friday, 3 July at about 6pm, an intelligence-driven operation between Pinetown Crime Intelligence operatives, Inchanga detectives and the Shongweni K9 Unit led to the arrest of the man, who was linked to both murders and rapes,” said Manqele.
