Man sustains serious injuries in M7 accident

Paramedics save man from the twisted frame of his vehicle.

A MAN is in a serious condition after a rear-end accident along the M7 near the Winston Churchill off ramp, this afternoon.

According to Netcare 911’s spokesman, Chris Botha, paramedics and their rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the patient to be trapped in the twisted frame of his vehicle with serious injuries.

“While the Netcare rescue officer and the firemen used that Jaws of Life to free the man, the medics had to clamber into the wreckage to stabilise the man. After medics immobilised the man on a trauma board, they removed him from the twisted metal and then transported him to a Durban hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic from another service,” said Botha.
