Malvern SAPS seize firearm

A man was found with an unlicenced firearm and was arrested.

A MALVERN SAPS Crime Prevention team headed by Captain Mano Govender, received intelligence regarding activities in the informal settlement of Burlington recently.

A man was found with an unlicenced firearm and was arrested.

“In a well-orchestrated planned operation, Captain Govender and his team kept covert surveillance. After having examined the property, the team strategically infiltrated the area,” said Corporate Communication Officer, W/O Radhika Marimuthu.

Further investigation linked the firearm to a case in Chatsworth. The suspect was charged and has appeared in court. The police are investigating.
