Jehovah’s Witnesses invite you to 2015 Imitate Jesus convention

The Hillary Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses invites you to Imitate Jesus at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

A THREE-DAY annual convention series demonstrating how Jesus’ example can give parents and children the tools to build stronger and more united families will be hosted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, 11 September. The programme, hosted by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, will start at 9am and will include a stimulating examination of Jesus’ famed Sermon on the Mount.

Delegates from the north of KZN up to Richards Bay, the south of the province up to Port Shepstone and Midlands up to Greytown will be there and sermons will be presented in in isiZulu, English and sign language. The event is open to the public.

The theme of this year’s programme is Imitate Jesus. Spokesman for the convention programme, Trevor Lee, said the three-day convention will be beneficial to both parents and children. “Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount offers timeless advice that can help parents to better use their time and resources to build a more secure and loving family environment,” he explained.

“Jesus, the founder of Christianity, is widely considered as one of the most influential and significant men who ever lived. Jehovah’s Witnesses’ core belief is that Jesus lived his life as a model for everyone to follow. The Imitate Jesus convention will examine Jesus’ life as outlined in the Bible, and emphasise how, regardless of background, lifestyle, or religion, everyone can benefit in practical ways from his example and teachings. A highlight of the programme will be the keynote address on Friday, 11 September at 11.45am, entitled Concealed in Him Are All the Treasures of Wisdom.

There is no admission fee to the convention and all are welcome to attend. An estimated number of 40 000 people per day are expected to flock the Moses Mabhida Stadium for the Bible-based programmes.
