THE Sizakala Customer Service Centre in the Hillcrest, with the help of law enforcement and security entities from the area, held an informative roadblock for motorists on Old Main Road.

The Sizakala Customer Service Centre is essentially a place were residents can go for assistance on any council related query. The centre offers a range of municipal services from opening new accounts to reporting faults, from providing information to logging complaints to submission of various forms.

Gillitts Metro Police, Hillcrest SAPS, Enforce Security Services and other municipal departments were in attendance.

The centres supervisor, Bongi Miya said it was important for the community to know that they could check and pay traffic fines at the centre.

Captain Simon Mthimkhulu from Metro Police Gillitts said metro wanted to educate motorists about wearing seat belts and keeping their cars roadworthy.

Security enforcement company, Enforce, was also present to raise awareness about remote jamming in malls and car jackings.

“We want to educate shopping centres on remote jamming devices, ” said Nikki Mohlmann, Enforce community projects manager.

Motorists may have been alarmed about the sudden roadblock and delay, but in the end it was beneficial and evident that private and public law enforcement has the community’s best interests at heart.
