UPDATE: SRC says UKZN strike will continue until ‘comrades’ are released
SRC members are still behind bars.

SRC secretary general, Ngcebo Mazibuko, confirmed that the case against SRC president, Lukhanyo Mtshengu, and Lwazi Magwaza was adjourned on Wednesday, 16 September.
The two were arrested on Tuesday during strikes at the UKZN Westville campus for malicious damage to property and public violence following vehicles and property being damaged by protesting students.
Mazibuko said they will refrain from any engagement with management until Mtshengu and Magwaza are released.
According to Mazibuko, “The investigating officer didn’t pitch for the case, which led to it being adjourned.”
Mtshengu and Magwaza were sent to Westville Prison to await trial on 23 September.
