Local businessman in police custody

The man was arrested after the Hawks and Crime Intelligence Unit conducted a successful undercover sting operation.

A Durban businessman (34) who was arrested on Monday, 26 October along with two middlemen age 34 and 33 have been denied bail and remanded the Durban North Police cells and will reappear in court on Tuesday, 3 November for bail consideration.

The three men were arrested after the Hawks conducted a sting operation and staged the assassination of a Kloof businessman, Grant Williams, which the arrested businessman had allegedly paid R10 000 for.

According to Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, Hawks spokesman, “The three suspects are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and police equipment.”
