SA Homeloans generously donates to Ethelbert

Thanks to the generosity of SA Homeloans, the home's bathrooms were re-tiled, re-fitted and painted, and the transformation is remarkable.

AFTER over a decade of heavy foot traffic, the bathrooms in Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre’s Silverton cottage were in desperate need of an upgrade.  Thanks to the generosity of SA Homeloans, the bathrooms were re-tiled, re-fitted and painted, and the transformation is remarkable.

A young boy’s eyes started welling up when he saw the newly-renovated bathrooms for the first time. When asked whether everything was alright, he said, “I am so happy. I have never used a brand new shower before.”

Director at Ethelbert, Vanessa Theophilus said the donation will help them accomplish their number one priority.

“We are able to continue giving the children in our care the best possible love, education and support we can as a direct result of the belief that individuals, institutions and companies such as SA Homeloans have in us,” she said.

“Their support and generosity is paramount to our work having a positive effect on children’s lives. I am very grateful to SA Homeloans for their generous donation,” she added.

The youth care centre is currently raising funds for 2016 school uniforms. “A third of our target has already been reached,”said the centre’s public relations officer, Gaylene Allen. “We aim to reach our target by the end of November so that all school uniforms and equipment can be bought before the new year.”

If anyone would like to donate towards the uniform fund, contact Gaylene on 031 464 6555 or e-mali pro@ethelbert.co.za.
