Valley Trust launches youth centre
Job seekers will be invited to register on a database, interviewed to assess capabilities and have their CVs compiled professionally.
THE Valley Trust (TVT) has established the Valley Youth Opportunity Centre (VYOC) that will equip young people from the rural communities of the Valley of 1000 Hills.
The mission of the Valley Trust is to use health and other means to improve the overall wellbeing of the communities of the Valley of a Thousand Hills and to continue to be an example of sustainable and holistic community development
The VYOC is an extension of TVT’s Valley Youth Leadership programme which sought to build the leadership capacity of young people and expose them to opportunities to further advancement.
The objective of the employment centre, within the VYOC is to give young people access to opportunities for employment. The centre seeks to be a link between unemployed youth and local employers, especially those looking for staff for entry level jobs or for participants in internships or learnerships.
Job seekers will be invited to register on a database, interviewed to assess capabilities and have their CVs compiled professionally.
Young people will be contacted when suitable employment opportunities arise.
The employment centre will also build relationships with local businesses and government departments with a view to placing registered candidates within these organisations.
Young people and businessmen that would like to be part of these programmes can contact the Valley Trust on 031 716 6800.
