KEARSNEY College launched the celebration of its 95th anniversary with a series of marathon events earlier this month.
A 12-hour marathon Bible reading from the New Testament, with boys, staff and members of the community each reading continuous five minute slots between 6am and 6pm on Wednesday, 3 February, started the proceedings.
This was followed by a number of competitive inter-house events, from 7pm on Wednesday throughout the night to lunchtime on Thursday, as part of the 95th Anniversary Challenge.
In the inter-house drama element, plays written and directed by the boys kicked off the evening’s fun, before the 95km inter-house relay marathon which started at 10pm. Other competitive festivities which followed included a go-kart race, indoor soccer, table tennis and touch rugby, culminating in the annual inter-house swimming gala.
The exhilarated and adrenalin-fuelled boys then went home for their half-term break to catch up on some much needed sleep.
