Nirvana Hills celebrates library week

Seniors from the area were invited to participate in the promotion of the importance of a library in the community as well as an Easter Hat Competition.

STAFF at Nirvana Hills Library celebrated SA Library Week on Wednesday, 16 March, observed nationally from Monday 14 to Monday 21 March.

Seniors from the area were invited to participate in the promotion of the importance of a library in the community as well as an Easter Hat Competition. Corporate Communications Officer for Malvern SAPS, W/O Radhika Marimuthu, spoke to the seniors about estate matters. “After a mini parade the finalists were chosen. I spoke to the seniors on the importance of having a will in place and other estate matters,” she said.

A representative from the Highway Aged offered the seniors safety advice. The Library staff, Shano Ramdhani, Simo Mchunu and Siyabonga Khumalo stressed to the seniors the

importance of reading and keeping in touch with current affairs. “We managed to gather senior citizens from different clubs from the community to part take in the day’s activities as well as to interact with each other in a public place,” said Ramdhani.
