Mbijana Sibisi to sing at Seaman’s Corner

Catch singer-songwriter, Mbijana Sibisi, at Seaman’s Corner in Hammarsdale on Saturday, 2 April.

SINGER-songwriter, vocalist, poet and guitarist, Mbijana Sibisi from Durban, will perform at Seaman’s Corner, Unit 3, Hammarsdale on Saturday, 2 April.

The music that he writes is influenced by the colours of life, both dark and light, since in his songs you will find stories of hardship as well as beautiful stories of love.

In his lyrics, he approaches society with a critical eye. His lyrics are composed in English and isiZulu. Belgium is where the artist performs the most since he started building his solo career in 2012. He has held numerous interviews on local radio stations.

Mbijana is currently a contestant in The Voice South Africa, where he blew thousands away with his rendition of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song during the auditions and impressed during the second phase with a powerful version of Zahara’s Phendula.

For this performance, Mbijana has something special up his sleeve: “I will be performing a mixture of covers and my originals. My plan is to share my soul with my audience.”

His band will be joining him on stage – Sibongiseni Shongwe on drums, Freeman Gumede on bass, Lindokuhle Ntshangase on keys and Mbijana himself on vocals and guitar. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets cost R30 each and are available at the door.

Additional to this performance, Mbijana and his band will be performing at Wiggins Primary School in Mayville.
