Highbury’s Water Explorers make every drop count

A Water Explorer Workshop will take place at the Deutsche Schule Durban, on Saturday 9 April.

HIGHBURY Preparatory School is celebrating its International Eco-Schools flag this year and, as part of its ongoing commitment, also joined the WESSA Water Explorer Programme.

“I promise to only take a two-minute shower” were the wise words and pledge made by Grade 3 pupil, Daniel Peatt, from the Highbury H20 Heroes Water Explorer team.

The Water Explorer Programme is a free, online, fun, inspiring and educational programme that empowers pupils to lead joint action on water issues. The international programme, supported by GAP UK, enables schools to earn points as they complete a variety of water challenges. Through their efforts to manage their water more wisely they stand a chance to win prizes to assist them in achieving their water goals. Other teams in the area include The Deutsche Schule Durban, New Germany Primary School, Kloof Pre-Primary School and The Birches Pre-Primary School and Wyebank Secondary School. As many as 230 schools, nationally, are participating.
