PINETOWN police arrested a 27-year-old man for attempted murder on Thursday, 31 March.
According to Lt Bongumusa Manqele, Pinetown SAPS communications officer, the man and his brother were walking in Dales Avenue, Pinetown at 10pm when they were allegedly robbed by two men at knifepoint.
“The suspect withdrew his gun and allegedly shot at the men who were fleeing the scene, but accidentally shot another person who was standing on the road.”
Manqele said the licensed gun belonging to the man was seized by police and he was arrested.
He will be charged with attempted murder and is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court soon.
