Jeff Radebe was speaking after the cabinet meeting which was held in Pretoria on Thursday.

THE Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe, announced that South Africa’s crime statistics would now be released on a quarterly basis.

According to media reports, Radebe said it was decided that one annual comprehensive report and quarterly crime statistics would now be released.

He said a need for frequent statistics will better enable government decision-making to address issues from crime trends.

According to the reports, Radebe said the annual comprehensive report will accommodate the changes in crime statistics that may result from quality assurance and changes related to the status of the cases that may take place during the year under consideration.
