Man seriously injured in Cato Ridge accident

The man explained that a truck moved into his lane and his vehicle apparently drove into a nearby embankment, which resulted in him losing control.

A MAN believed to be in his 40s sustained critical injuries when his car overturned on the N3 near Cato Ridge on Sunday afternoon (19 June).

Shortly before 1pm, paramedics from ER24 were dispatched to the scene where they found a vehicle lying on its roof against the middle island barrier.

The man, believed to be the only occupant, was found lying on the passenger side of the vehicle with serious injuries. He sustained multiple fractures to his arm and possible back and neck injuries.

ER24 spokesman, Werner Vermaak, said, “Paramedics extricated him from the vehicle and treated him on the scene before he was rushed through to Edendale Hospital.”
