School raises funds for worthy charity

An amount of R3 040.50 was collected.

WESTVILLE Senior Primary School had a civvies day on Wednesday, 15 June to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

An amount of R3 040.50 was collected for this very worthy charity. The contribution will make it possible for the foundation to reach out to people with muscular dystrophy, their families and healthcare professionals who help them.

This money provides a gateway of mobilisation for dedicated programmes of social integration, human rights, capacity-building and awareness.

Sharon Dickens, the school’s marketing administrator, said, “Muscular dystrophy mirrors the population, which means that the majority of people affected are previously disadvantaged. Our donation will help them to buy much-needed equipment, which enables their members to participate more fully in everyday community life.”
