Blanket donation to keep residents warm

Hundreds of residents in Motala Heights received care packages and a blanket ahead of the recent winter chill.

IN an effort to curb the winter chill, the Gift of the Givers and the Motala Heights Christian Fellowship joined forces to help the needy in the Motala Heights area.

Hundreds of underprivileged gathered outside a park to receive their vanity pack (toothpaste, soap and hair care products), detergent pack (essential items needed for washing clothes), biscuits and a blanket. “It is a blessing from God to help the underprivileged,” said Aslam Essa, a representative from the Gift of the Givers.

Pastor Krish Govender said he has been involved in donations such as this for the past 20 years and it brought him great joy to give back to the community. “The people feel so good and we are blessed and so grateful to have Gift of the Givers come through and give to those in our area who are most in need.”
