TWO boys, aged 11 and 12, suffered multiple injuries when they were hit and possibly dragged by a vehicle on Circle Drive in Wyebank, Pinetown on Saturday, 30 July.

According to Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesman, paramedics arrived at the scene around 1pm and found the two boys sitting in a nearby taxi. It is believed that they were riding their bicycles when they fell and a car collided with them. One of the boys suffered several burns and abrasions and the other suffered a severe laceration to his head and a possible fractured left arm.

“It is believed that a taxi driver arrived shortly after the incident and assisted the two boys into his taxi and called emergency services. Paramedics treated both the boys and transported them to RK Khans Hospital. The driver of the vehicle was in shock about what had happened,” said Vermaak.

He added that the exact cause of the accident is not yet known.
