10 injured as bakkie overturns on Field’s Hill

Paramedics from different emergency services raced to the scene to help the injured occupants.

TEN people were injured this morning when a Ford Ranger overturned on the M13 on Fields Hill.

At approximately 7am, paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene. The vehicle was on its roof and the ten occupants were sitting on the side of the road. According to Werner Vermak, the spokesman for ER24, said a majority of the occupants had minor injuries and three people had moderate injuries. “Their injuries ranged from minor scrapes and bruises to possible back and neck injuries,” said Werner.

The injured were transported by ER24 and other services to a nearby hospital. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known. Traffic was severely affected in the area.
