Seven injured in Westmead robbery

While no shots were fired during the robbery, it is believed the robbers assaulted the staff.

SEVEN people were injured during a robbery at a business on Young Road in Westmead, yesterday afternoon.

ER24 paramedics, along with another emergency services, treated the injured people. According to Russel Meiring, ER24’s spokesman, the injuries ranged from minor to moderate and no serious or fatal injuries were reported.

Five of the seven injured people were taken to a nearby hospital and two declined the offer to be transported to hospital.

“It is understood that an unknown number of gunmen entered the premises. Fortunately, no shots were fired, but the injured people were believed to have been assaulted,” said Meiring.
