Community project needs your help
The creche for underprivileged children is in dire need of help and is close to closing its doors.

THE Angels Desire Creche and Daycare in Mariannheights provides a safe place of learning for underprivileged children and is in need of assistance.
Principal of the centre, Lorraine Whyte, explained that the centre is a haven to underprivileged children from KwaNdengezi, St Wendolins, Mariannhill, Nagina as well as Mariannridge. She said that most of the parents could not afford to pay their children’s fees and therefore the centre was in danger of shutting its doors. Lorraine, is a community activist and runs the creche as a community project. She said the centre is in need of donations of paint, carpets and food. She appealed to community members to provide her with some assistance.
“It’s unfortunate that due to large scale unemployment and the rising cost of living that many families suffer, particularly children. When individuals are deprived of the opportunity to work, their dignity and ability to provide for their families are undermined,” said Marlaine Nair, DA PR Councillor for Ward 13 and 15.
