
PINETOWN Trio Task Team arrested a second man for a murder and robbery which took place in Pinetown on 2 June 2015.
According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, five armed men held up the deceased (38), his sister and two children at gunpoint.
“The victims were ordered to lie down on the floor while the men ransacked the house. Household items including cell phones and a shotgun were taken by the men. The deceased was armed with a pistol and managed to shoot one of the men dead and the other suspects shot him during the cross fire. The men fled the scene in their getaway car which was parked outside the house. Initial investigations led to the arrest of the first man last year and he has appeared in the Durban High Court a few times, but has not been sentenced as yet,” said Capt Manqele.
Through the information from an informant, a second man was arrested on Monday, 21 November in Ntuzuma.
