UPDATE: Alleged hijacker killed in Westville shooting

Westville police are investigating a case of attempted murder.

WESTVILLE police have confirmed that the man who was killed in a Westville shooting on Friday was an alleged hijacker.

According to Westville SAPS communications officer, Capt Elizabeth Squires, the victim (48) arrived at his home in Chesham Road when five men who were in another car confronted him.

“There was a shootout between the victim and the men. The victim was shot in his leg and was taken to hospital. One of the five men was shot and killed and the four got away in their vehicle,” said Squires.

A case of attempted murder is being investigated by Westville detectives.
