Christmas babies bring joy
Two baby girls were born at Life Westville Hospital on Christmas Day.
TWO couples were overwhelmed with happiness after they welcomed their new bundles of joy to their families. on Christmas Day.
Rob and Carolyn Macqueen of Westville welcomed a new addition to their family on Christmas Day around 6.50am.
According to Rob, this is their third daughter and her arrival suprised her parents as Caroyln was only due on 12 January 2017.
Ella Macqueen was born around 6.50am and weighed 2.5kgs. Rob said it was a little inconvenient at first as he and his wife wanted to see their two other children open their presents on Christmas morning but they had to rush to the hospital instead.
“She was a bit of a surprise but definitely a blessing. Ella is healthy and very strong and we were able to take her home the next day,” said Rob.
Rob thanked the hospital staff who he said were very accommodating on Christmas day, as well as his family and friends who stepped in to help.
The second Christmas baby, Okhuhle Msweli was born at 9.24am to Sinehlanhla and Msawakhe Msweli of Verulam.

The couple said they had been praying and waiting for five years after their marriage to have a child, and were blessed to have their first born arrive on Christmas day.
Proud father, Msawakhle said they were very happy and excited and couldn’t have asked for a better gift from God. “Our baby girl, Okhuhle, is such a blessing for our family. She is a happy and healthy child,” said Msawakhle.
