Bus and car collide in Westville

The driver of the car was found trapped inside the wreck.

FIVE people were injured this morning when a bus and car collided head-on in Blair Atholl Road, Westville.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services found both vehicles in the middle of the road.

“Several patients were found walking around at the scene,” said ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring

“Paramedics found the driver lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle in a serious condition,” he said.

Specialised rescue equipment had to be used to free the man.

“Paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions. Four other patients from the bus were assessed, including the driver. They all sustained moderate injuries,” said Meiring.
