Guests uncork heart of Africa at fund-raiser

EACH year The Quintessential Food and Beverages Group host an exciting charity event to help raise funds to give back to the community.

Partnering with the Robin Hood Foundation for the second year in a row, the fund-raising evening on Thursday night was a tremendous success. All funds raised at the event will be used to bless more than 200 grannies with the foundation’s signature Gogo bag. Each of these are filled with non-perishable foods, toiletries, blankets and clothing.

The evening consisted of a selection from incredible wine estates and also craft beers, KWV brandys, Wild African Cream and Avanti Coffee.

This was then coupled with an exquisite array of snacks on the grazing table in true Quintessential style. There were a few fabulous auction prizes up for grabs and the beautiful tunes of Amy White ensured the evening was a great success.

Kim Griffith Jones, co-ordinator of The Robin Hood Foundation, said, “We are so grateful to The Quintessential Food and Beverages group for choosing Robin Hood as the benefactor for their annual charity event. Once again they have hosted a most incredible evening. The décor and the goodie bags all tied the Heart of Africa theme together and our guests had the most fantastic evening. We will be visiting our Hammarsdale gogo’s at the end of August and we cannot wait to give them the gogo bags. We truly believe the gogo is the heart of Africa, the heart of the family and it will be an honour to be able to bless these elderly ladies this women’s month.”
